#Roxy 2018

So your typical High School chick flick. Guys, How many times are we going to recycle this idea and dress it up differently. Anyway, maybe it appeals to the younger generation. There are more social media references. They take a while to make it known how these people are connected to probably make you wonder if there is anything going on between them. So this guy has a huge nose and he is best friends with a girl he likes. The girl is just so out of this world because she is so real (Cliche) and so she goes for the handsome guy. He pretends to be the handsome guy through the messages so she sees the real him because of his insecurity, he thinks she won't like him so he never confesses his feelings for her. Okay, so for the younger crowd, it may teach you some good lessons that good looks are not everything. Yes, "good looks attract the mind but good personality, the heart." says Kenneth. I don't know how I remembered that quote. I just googled who said it, b...

Acrimony 2018

This movie was epic. Well for me anyway. I like movies that have that realistic appeal. Don't wanna give away the plot because- spoilers- so just watch it then read this and give me an opinion... My opinion, I feel bad for her, I really do, but why do you chase after a man when you already have red flags that he never loved you the way you loved him. You also have a very loving family who tries to talk you out of it. Also, take the money, cut your losses and leave. Why obsess over what he did after. He was also a real con artist and user. He used her love for him to his advantage. He could have fought for her. Why didn't he? This is such a debatable movie. I feel like both of them were just stupid in different ways. Taraji P. Henson was as always, from what other movies of hers I've seen, just awesome. She just takes over the role and you would actually be convinced that this is her life. The ending was unexpected, but good one Tyler Perry. Good movie.

BIRD BOX (2018)

This movie was a bit out of the box for me because I usually lean towards the chick flicks and comedies, but because Sandra Bullock was here,  I had to see what the fuss was about. The concept was quite interesting, I mean, wanting to die because you saw something which was like your fears or insecurities or inner demons. It was so creepy. I don't know if the fact that they did not show the demon was more scary or less scary than actually seeing what it was. The fact that there were some people unaffected by these things makes me wonder about some of the mentally disturbed people we have living among us. What I also don't get is how she got to 5 years. Like if you wanted the kids in the movie, they could have just been born already. It was quite a happy-sad ending. It's actually kind of scary to think about life in such a way, where you are living a normal life and then something just comes and takes it all away from you. Also, some of the suicides were a bit grueso...

To All the Boys I've Loved Before (2018)

It's a RomCom... a guy who this girl crushed on once upon a time sort of helps her get her confidence up and he eventually starts liking her. Who didn't see that coming? Nice movie though, if you like Sappy RomComs that make you just want to go "Awwwww." There's no real elaboration here because that would just give away the plot. Why would you put addresses on them though. Quite risky.

LADY-LIKE (2018)

Basically a pass-time kind of movie. No real story line and some relatable moments for women. It's a pretty average movie, I guess and you need the right vibe to watch it. It was just a movie showing how a friend can desert you once she has a boyfriend. Which I don't think actually happens. Then again, I wouldn't really know.  It also points out that everyone needs to have something in life to focus on. Be it a best friend or a boyfriend, you cannot let your life revolve around a person. The girl was lazy and unambitious and only till she got her life together, did she stop being so needy. Good lesson in a way.

KAABIL (2017)

This movie was sad. The story actually evoked emotions in me , because raping a blind girl and basically trying to harm a blind couple, who are just trying to make the best of life, for no good reason just annoyed me. I felt bad for the characters, although Bollywood will take you away from what feels real really quickly when they want to add the "Unbelievable"; like when he took his revenge and he was a really high-functioning blind guy. It all seems impossible, even though the bad guys deserved whatever came to them. I wish that justice was served so easily in the world, the way Hritik Roshan served it in this movie. Another movie where the cops only wake up when it suits them. Still sad to see that some people are so unnecessary and pick on people who they think are supposedly weaker, until BHAM, they show you that you should have just kept to yourself! Good watch.

SIMMBA (2018)

So, I hardly get time to watch Bollywood; so this was the first movie I watched in the cinema in a long time. I actually went for the song"Aankh Marey"; but the sound was bad at the movie theater so that was depressing. Anyway, the movie itself was not bad. It shows that the cops or basically any person in power, can just abuse it. You think that these are the people that are going to help you out of trouble but they are the main reason for it. Anyway, the corrupt cop has an Epiphany when someone close to him becomes a victim to this corrupt police work and so of course, dramatically (because Bollywood); he makes sure to get her justice. The idea and social issues addressed make the movie worth the watch. The songs were bomb, although random and , "Slow motion" (again, Bollywood). I generally like Ranveer Singh and now Sara Ali Khan and her amazing personality got me obsessed for a while, even though she had a small part. It was  great watch. If you can put up ...
